Weedon are up to third place in the Northants Combination Division One after a thrilling 6-3 win over Heyford Athletic.

The villagers came out on top in this nine-goal thriller, with Scott Cross scoring twice.

Ben Drinkwater also hit a double, while there were singles for Ashley Brown and Jack Wise.

Still leading the way in the table are Daventry Drayton Grange, who secured a 2-1 win over Kettering Orchard Park.

In division two, West Haddon Albion continued their run of encouraging results as they secured a 4-3 win at Kettering Park Rovers.

The win sees the villagers up to seventh in the table.

The men on the mark for Haddon were Alex Burley, Michael Christie, Gavin Cope and Josh Brown.

West Haddon’s reserve team secured a point from their drawn clash with Higham Town Reserves.

Michael Brownsell scored the goal that sealed the draw for Haddon.
