SUNDAY saw a full complement of matches in both the adult and veterans’ divisions and despite the wintery weather there was several fantastic results.

In the Vets’ Division both S&L Corby and Daventry Town won their respective NFA semi final Veterans’ Cup matches.

They now meet each other in what will be an all-Daventry Sunday League final sometime later this month.

The venue is yet to be decided but with one Daventry and one Corby sides in the final the venue is likely to be in Northampton.

Congratulations go out to both Paul Creaney at Daventry Town and Kevin Macdonald at S&L Corby as they now join Casey’s A as the second and third teams to reach a county cup finals.

This is a great strike rate when you consider that only five teams from the Daventry Sunday League entered the NFA competitions.

More good news from Dave Souter’s Club 101 who reached the final of the Byfield and Bethel Cup.

This has been a midweek floodlit cup competition involving teams from Daventry and Banbury areas.

In their respective divisions, Onley Utd continue their winning ways and head the table in the Adult Division as do AEI Rugby in the Vets’ division who ran out 5-2 winners at Woodford.

At the other end of the table Daventry Saxons are continuing their winning ways by recording two consecutive victories in two weeks.

Next Sunday sees the quarter final round of the Attenborough Trophy with a mixture of adult and vets’ teams in action.

Check the fixtures as some games have been changed or postponed since the last updates.
