THE Tulips shocked the Bucks with an early spectacular goal from Ryan O’Loughlin after just four minutes.
The superb strike sailed across Stephanou into the far top corner.
Despite their best efforts throughout the rest of the half the Bucks were unable to break Spalding down. Rob Foster’s shot from close range on eight minutes was knockede away for a corner.
Then Foster’s flick to Dunkley was hit past the post and two minutes later, Dunkley hit the post after a quick turn and impressive shot.
Buckby battled on and Smeathers saw his powerful header bounce over the bar on 20 minutes.
At the half-hour, Smeathers saved the Bucks from being two down with a last-ditch tackle on O’Loughlin when he was through 12 yards out in front of the Bucks’ goal.
Rob Foster saw his shot blocked from six yards out after good work from Greg Ling at the close of the first-half.
Despite having the best of the possession at this stage of the game it went to the 60th minute before the Bucks were level.
Fazel Koriya crossed which Russ Dunkley met with a powerful header from six yards.
Koriya was among the action shortly after on 74 minute.
His pace took him past the full-back and with everybody expecting the cross he curled the ball behind keeper Conway to find the far side netting from a tight angle.
Bucks were under increasing pressure from Spalding in the last 10 minutes of the game as they pressed for the equaliser – but they held out fairly comfortably.
Despite the tight scoreline, this was an impressive team performance from the Bucks with all of the back four playing well coupled with a few moments of magic up front.
