Rossington signs two-year deal with Northants

Rossington spent the second half of the summer at the County Ground on loan from Middlesex.

The 21-year-old impressed throughout his time on loan, and he has decided to swap Lord’s for Wantage Road on a permanent basis.

A club statement read: “Northants Cricket are pleased to announce the signing of Adam Rossington on a two-year contract.

“Adam has been on loan to the club from Middlesex since June, 2014. He has proved a popular player with both fans and team mates.

“Adam is delighted to be joining Northants Cricket and is looking forward to the 2015 season and playing first-team cricket on a regular basis.”

Following his loan move, Rossington ended up topping the Northants first-class batting averages in 2014.

He scored 440 runs at an average of 44, and he scored one of only a handful of centuries achieved by the club’s batsmen.

Rossington also averaged 43 in the Royal London One Day Cup averages, second only to Richard Levi, and had the best average in the NatWestBlast T20 competition as well, scoring 157 runs at 31.4.

Rossington was also named the club’s young player of the year at their annual awards night on Thursday.
