Ben Duckett, who is currently on England Lions duty, and Richard Levi were both missing from the Northants ranks for the Royal London One-Day Cup clash at the County Ground.

But it didn’t matter for David Ripley’s men, who delivered a stunning 170-run success to move up to fourth in their group.

Keogh was the star of the batting show, making a maiden List A century before eventually falling for 134.

The Steelbacks easily defended their 355 for six as Durham were bowled out for just 185, with Muhammad Azharullah claiming five for 43.

And Keogh was delighted with the way his side handled the loss of key men.

“We were missing key players today, Ben Duckett and Richard Levi, so it’s great to step up and help us to a really good win,” said the 24-year-old.

“Rob Newton’s innings was also a fantastic knock.

“It’s always good to come in when there’s a guy seeing it well at the other end - I had that with Josh Cobb (who made 56). He settled the nerves and I managed to get stuck in.

“It was great to get my first hundred.”
