Cobblers clash at Wimbledon called off

The Cobblers’ Boxing Day fixture at AFC Wimbledon was called off this morning.

The Dons’ Kingsmeadow pitch was waterlogged after days of heavy rainfall in south west London, and was deemed unfit for play following a morning inspection.

It will be a massive frustration for Aidy Boothroyd and his players, who had travelled to London on Christmas Day, and had stayed overnight in a hotel.

Town, who were 2-0 winners over Aldershot on Saturday, will now be hoping Saturday’s clash at Gillingham will get the go-ahead.
