DUNCAN Childs braved appalling weather on Saturday to win Hellidon Lakes Presdents Putter.

He scored 39 stableford points to win by two from the in-form Graham Grubb who scored 37 points. Back in third was Paul Craig on 36 points.

All proceeds from the competition went to president Malcolm Bodfish’s nominated charity Cure Leukemia.

Thanks from all the members who took part for Malcolm’s hopitality on the day and all the prizes he provided.

Hellidon’s handicap league team completed their fixtures last week with a win at home over nearest challengers Farthingstone by 15-2.

They now have to wait for the final results to see if they qualify for the semi finals.

Martin Bannister and Matt Harris are progressing well in the Northants fourball betterball knockout competition, so far they have defeated Farthingstone and Cold Ashby to reach the quarter finals.

Long standing member John Wingrove outshone the field to capture the Celebration cup at Hellidon Lakes on Saturday.

In perfect conditions, John scored 39 stableford points to defeat Gavin Aris by a single point. Brian Jones was a point further back in third.

Hellidon’s men’s invitation has been moved to Saturday, October 8.
