The first game this week saw Long Buckby FC host St James A. The away side took both doubles games through 'Juice' (140, 125) and Craig Graham (140, 100) followed by 'Hemps' (100x3) and Willie Taylor (100).
St James then took all five singles games with wins for Craig Graham, 'Juice' (122, 100x5), 'Hemps' (100x2), 'Burtie' (100x2) and finally 'Bully' (110f, 100x2) giving St James a seven games to nil success.
Game two saw The George entertain The Pik
e and Eel. The Pike took both doubles matches through Nigel Turland (100x2) and Chris Gay (100) followed by 'Apple' (134, 121) and John Gaul (100).
The Pike then took the next two singles games with wins for Chris Gay (100x3) and Gary Birch (121, 100). Andy Teale (100x2) pulled one back for The Pike but wins for John Gaul (135, 100) and 'Apple' (125, 100x2, 110f) gave
The Pike a 6-1 victory.
Game three was at Daventry SSC versus The Wheatsheaf, Weedon. The home side took both doubles matches with wins for Troy Miller (100) and Paul Butler (140, 100x2) followed by Tony Randall (100) and Ian Ingram. DSSC then took the first two singles games through Troy Miller and Paul Butler (140x3, 100x3). The Wheatsheaf responded by taking the final three games through Max Murray (140x2, 100), Brian Farmer (140, 100x2) and Scot Grimsley (118, 100x2) but it was DSSC who win by four games to three.
The final game in league One saw The Workers entertain The Wheatsheaf, Braunston. The home side took the first doubles game through Dave Jones (100) and Ricky Cole (140, 100x2) only for 'Swanny' (180, 134, 140) and Tom Kendall (140, 100) to level the match.
Dave Harris (140, 138, 135, 100x2) gave The Wheatsheaf the advantage but a win for Mat Edgar (100x3) levelled again. Dave Jones (121, 100x2) put The Workers ahead but a win for 'Swanny' (140, 121, 100) sent the match into the deciding game, which was won by Andy Swain (101) giving The Workers a four games to three success.
League Two
The first game in League Two saw The Plume of Feathers host The Bowls Club.
The home side took both doubles games through Glenn Graham (100) and S Tacey followed by Neil Dowd (100x2) and Dave Christie (100).
M Waldron (100x2) pulled one back for The Bowls Club only for The Plume to take the next four games with wins for Glenn Graham (100x4), S Tacey (100x2), 'Jug' (100) and Dave Christie (119) giving
The Plume a 6-1 victory.
Game two saw the St James Minxs entertain The White Horse, Norton.
The away side took both doubles games through Ian Donachie and Phil Turner
followed by N Keeling and Simon Gulliver. A win for Phil Turner (134) made it 3-0 only for Adele Heath (85, 81, 92) to pull one back for The Minxs. Ian Donachie (132) made it
4-1 to The White Horse but a win for Lynn Tyler (89) reduced the deficit again. N Keeling (102, 100) took the final game giving The White Horse a five games to two win.
The third game was at The Wheatsheaf, Weedon, versus St James B. The away side took both doubles games through John Geary (119) and Donna Taylor (85, 83, 81) followed by Anthony Leedham (100) and Allan Taylor (100). Cheryl Astill (100, 85, 81) made it 3-0 but a win for Tom
Babbings (140, 100) reduced the deficit. St James then took the final three games with wins for John Geary (140,), Anthony Leedham and Donna Taylor (100x2, 95, 81) giving St James a 6-1 success.
The final game in league two saw The Con Club B host The Dun Cow. The Dun took both doubles games through Terry Griffin and Richard Winn followed by Keith Chapman and John Swinbourne. The away side then took the next three singles games with wins for Keith Chapman (133), Richie Elliot (100x2) and Nev Thornicroft. JP Pickerin (120x2) pulled one back for The Cons but a win for Richard Winn gave The Dun Cow a six games to one victory.
