Former Woodford United player Paul Lamb will team up again with Daventry Town's new manager Ady Fuller on becoming player-coach at Communications Park
next season.
The two played together at Banbury United before Lamb moved onto Woodford and Bedworth United where he was joined last season by another new Daventry signing in
Neil Lazarus.

The talented Lazarus can play at full-back or midfield and will add to
the options of
ex-England schoolboy international Fuller who has also signed Long Buckby utility man Jon Crockett.

Crockett scored 14 goals for the Bucks last season and will give yet more height to a Town squad already boosted by the signings of Station Road pair Russell Dunkley and Jason Lee.

On the debit side full-back Josh Urquart has decided to stay put at Woodford while central defender Adam Knight is still weighing up the pros and cons of a return to UCL Premier Division football.

But Fuller has another
centre-half up his sleeve if Knight opts for the comfort zone by remaining as
player-manager of Northamptonshire Combination minnows Brixworth.

"The signings already made give the squad a good nucleus of players although a quality central defender remains a top priority," said Fuller who confirmed that all of last season's first team players are keen to stay with the club.

Daventry were quickly out of the blocks last season with Danny Nelson's hat-trick leading to a 5-2 win over Deeping Rangers and early talk of a championship challenge.

That failed to materialise with managers Martyn Walker and Glenn Botterill both sacked either side of a prolonged caretaker-manager's job shared by brothers-in-law Danny Finlay and Aidy Greatrex.

The challenges will come thick and fast again in the
2009-2010 campaign with Deeping certain to be there or thereabouts again along with Boston and possibly also
St Neots.

It will be all-systems go from the start of July as Fuller will get his players together for
pre-season training in a fortnight's time in a bid to fulfil chairman Iain Humphrey's dream of achieving Southern League status in 2010.
