Buckby see unbeaten home run at an end

Long Buckby's outstanding two-year unbeaten home stint came to a comprehensive end with a 101-run defeat to Loddington and Mawsley.
Batting first, the visitors posted 199. Gary Reeve, the pick of the Buckby bowlers, took four for 30. The Bucks, showing little resistance in reply, eventually were skittled out for just 98 runs.

Long Buckby firsts are at home again on Saturday, a
gainst local rivals East Haddon who suffered a 66-run loss to Old Wellingburians Firsts. They were helped on their way by a healthy 63 from Nehal Patel who was finally caught by Colin Bendel off the bowling of Jeremy Medlin.

Haddon's Matt Southam returned impressive bowling figures of five-39, Stuart Keeping (three-32) and Jeremy Medlin (two-16).

In reply, OW's Karim Prince was six-34 and Nehal Patel three-two.
In Division Four, Heyford firsts beat Poddington Firsts by nine wickets with an undefeated half-century from Ross Cambray (57) who also gained the bowling plaudits with seven-23.

Harlestone Firsts beat Weldon by six wickets in Division Five with Nick Beesley taking six-13 off 6.4 overs, including three maidens.
Rajiv Raval hit 37 before being caught off the bowling of Martin Murkitt, and Ryan Toone collected 24.

West Haddon Firsts beat Wicken by nine runs and they were helped to their win by a massive total of 81 from Neil Humphrey.
Wicken's Ian Roberts (70), Brendan Pollard (64), Shaun Abbott (55) were also in good batting form.

was West Haddon's Bruce Kain (four-84).

In Division Six, Bugbrooke Firsts secured a 50-run victory over near-neighbours St Michaels 74 Firsts (Bugbrooke) in a tense derby encounter.
Bugbrooke's Christopher Chapman hit 42, David Ivins (34) and Ian Street (24) while St Michaels 74's John Street made 40.

On the bowling front, St Michaels 74 player Tom Chapman returned figures of four-37 and John Chapman (two-41) and Bugbrooke's Ian Preston was five-33.

In Long Buckby's Seconds game against Spencer Firsts the last pair batted for 15 overs to try to save the game but Spencer's Richard Muscutt bowled Peter Incley with three balls left to win the game for Spencer by 28 runs in Division Eight.

Spencer's Steve Faulkner was the mainstay of the innings with a fine 62 and Alan York hit a valuable 21 not out to get Spencer to 163.
Buckby lost wickets at regular intervals with Spencer's Guy Morgan four-28 and Matthew Law two-27.
