A PRIMARY school will soon have its very own online radio show after purchasing some new equipment.

Ashby Fields Primary School has bought a radio broadcast station after funds were raised through the PTA.

Teacher Ricky Emms said: “It enables us to broadcast around the school.

“Eventually parents will be able to stream and listen to our broadcasts on the internet.

“At the moment we are doing very simple things but we are planning on putting the children in charge and forming a radio club. They will create a show every lunch time, it could be a popular music show or a poetry show or anything really, the children can decide what they want.

“It will benefit the children by building confidence, improving their listening and speaking skills and helping them learn to plan and prepare.”
