THE baton relay between WI groups across Northamptonshire came to Kilsby, Barby and Braunston.

On Sunday, May 27, the baton arrived at Barby Village Hall by special delivery courtesy of the Royal Mail complete with seven members of Kilsby WI, with Postman Pat and his black and white Cat Jess holding the baton.

They were greeted by much flag waving and cheering from 16 members of Barby WI.

Diane Humphreys, president of Kilsby WI, then presented the baton to Margaret Seager, president of Barby WI, where she signed in good old GPO tradition for this special delivery.

Both WI groups then enjoyed a cream tea in Barby Village Hall provided by the members of Barby.

The following day the baton was again on its travels.

Barby members accompanied the baton to Braunston, driven in style in a stretch limousine courtesy of Limo Hire, Village Farm, Barby.
