Weedon man dies following car crash

A man has died following the road traffic collision on the A5 at Fosters Booth on Friday lunchtime.

Mr Kirkpatrick was travelling northbound along the A5 in a silver Mercedes which was in collision with a white Volkswagen LT35 van, travelling in the opposite direction, by the Red Lion public house in Fosters Booth.

Mr Kirkpatrick was taken to the Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry, where he died in the critical care unit at 5.45pm on Saturday.

The male driver of the van, from Stacey Bushes in Milton Keynes, was uninjured. The van damaged the porched entrance of the public house.

The collision caused significant disruption on the roads in the vicinity of the A5 at Fosters Booth on Friday afternoon.
