Cllr Wendy Randall was joined last week by Jacquie Ward, Linda Herring and her son Sam for a clean up of Kentle Wood, a small woodland reserve at the back of the Ford site on the Royal Oak industrial estate.

The woods which are enjoyed by dog walkers and keen ramblers were blighted by litter including empty bottles of alcohol and crisp packets. The volunteers cleared a wide area and amassed five bin liners full of detritus.

This is the latest in a series of clean-up events held across Daventry District in recent weeks. Last month residents from Daventry’s Grange estate held a community clear-up while Weedon Bec also hosted its own clean up event.

Daventry District Council is also currently running its ‘Don’t be a tosser’ campaign targeting roadside litter.
