A TEAM of horse vaulters have become British champions in their category.

The Moulton Vaulters are led by Long Buckby resident Janet Price, whose daughter Sophie was on the team.

They became British champions in the pre-novice category in an event at the end of Octbober, having won the English championship earlier in the year.

Mrs Price said: “It’s a great achievement for the team, which was only started around 18 months ago.

“But we have great coaches, which are the best in the country.”

Equestrian vaulting is performing gymnastics on the back of a moving horse, and has its origins in circus performances.
