Village gets set for carols, crafts and a visit from santa claus

Carols by candlelight will be the order of the evening on Saturday when the annual Christmas in the cloister fundraiser is hosted in Farthingstone.

On Saturday December 1 residents can enjoy roasted chestnuts, games, a tombola, homemade crafts and a visit from santa claus.

The event will run from 4pm to 7pm with santa arriving at 5pm and carol singing by candlelight at 6pm opposite the Kings Arms in the centre of the village.

Money from the night will go to the maintenance of Joy Mead, a memorial garden and cloister in memory of Joy who died of tuberculous aged 22 and the Roade community orchestra.

Entry to the event is free.
