A singer from Long Buckby has released a debut single which has propelled her to chart success.
Vici Jo, real name Victoria Yates, released the single called Do What You Want and reached number 84 in the Amazon dance charts 24 hours after its release.
The former pupil of both the infant and junior school in Long Buckby and Guilsborough School was delighted to sign with New Ents Records.
The single has also been given support by Parkdean Holidays, a national Holiday company with more than 300,000 guests per year where Vici has recently signed to tour her vocal show Funky Town throughout the UK.
Speaking about her success, Vici said: “My first love is singing and I am fortunate to be able to sing professionally every night as a result of my tour with Parkdean Holidays.
“My musical influences are Amy Winehouse, Motown and Diana Ross and my new single certainly borrows some influences from that classic sound.
“I think my sound is unique and I’ve always wanted to be a recording artiste.
“I’m very excited to have been given the opportunity by New Ents Records to release my first single.
“Who knows where it will lead but I am very determined to succeed.
“So many people have helped me through my career so far and I have received lots of messages of support from friends, family and the well- wishers in the local area.
“I am so grateful and I really hope they like the track.”
Vici is no stranger to the limelight as she looks to make her mark on the national stage.
As a youngster she was chosen to sing on Martine McCutcheon’s Children in Need single. She has also performed in pantomime at the Royal and Derngate in Northampton as well as various West End stages.
In 2011 she was featured in Tap Attack on the ITV talent show Britain’s Got Talent and even represented England in the World tap dance championships in Germany.
Vici has already achieved many show business milestones. As a child she won numerous talent competitions and, at the age of 16, was offered a full time scholarship at the world renowned Italia Conti Stage School.
The single has been written especially for her by media producer Will Berger.
New Ents Records Executive Hilary Martin said: “We are very excited to sign Vici Jo for her first single release.
“She is very talented and has a voice well suited to the classic soul and disco sounds that we are currently promoting. We have high hopes for the single which is the perfect track to start any disco party.”
The single, which was released on March 20, can be downloaded from both Amazon and iTunes. For more information about the artist, she can be found on Twitter by visiting twitter.com/vici_jo
