People seeking a fresh and unique career challenge are being encouraged to attend a recruitment evening for Daventry’s University Technical College (UTC) next week.
The event is open to anyone interested in working for the flagship new educational facility and will be held on Monday between 4.30pm and 8pm at the iCon Environmental Innovation Centre in Eastern Way, Daventry.
The UTC is currently being built off Ashby Road and will receive its first intake of 120 Year 10 students this autumn. A variety of positions will be available as part of the initial recruitment process this spring, in the fields of teaching, teaching support, administration services and estate and hotel services.
Principal designate David Edmondson and deputy principal Sally Kirk will be available to discuss recruitment opportunities and there will also be a series of short presentations.
Mr Edmondson said: “The UTC is a completely different way of delivering a curriculum and will offer fantastic opportunities for staff as well as its students.
“We are keen to meet individuals from all walks of life, whether they have a teaching or technical background, industry or further education experience.
“Our main focus is to find people with flexibility, who are really interested in all aspects of a child’s education – not just a subject or specialism – and who would relish a unique challenge like the UTC.”
Mr Edmondson added that support staff would be required alongside teaching positions.
Anyone interested in finding out more can drop in to the event on 11 February or make an enquiry via the website www.daventryutc.com or by phoning 0800 3582232.
