Summer is still here! So take advantage of the chance to get out on the water and try sailing for free at Daventry’s sailing club on Saturday 22 August.
You can get a taste for what the sport is all about and just how accessible and sociable it is when Rugby and Daventry open the doors to the club, on Drayton Reservoir near Middlemore, between 2pm and 4pm.
Rugby and Daventry SC is a recognised RYA Training Centre meaning it conforms to the highest standards of safety and quality. All you will need to enjoy a taster sail with an experienced club member is some comfortable clothes and some old trainers you don’t mind getting wet and, weather depending, a waterproof and/or sunscreen. Buoyancy aids, equipment and safety brief will be provided and refreshments will be available.
The Taster Day is open to people who may never have even considered stepping into a boat before, people who already know they would like to learn to sail but want to sample the sport first or sailors who may be new to the area and are looking for a new club or perhaps haven’t sailed for some time.
