A CONTROVERSIAL planning application for land between Nether Heyford and Bugbrooke has been refused.

The proposal was to allow two caravans and a permanent day room for travellers on land just off the road between the two villages.

However, South Northamptonshire Council’s development committee said the site was too close to some grain driers for human habitation and refused permission.

On the night before the committee hearing the fire service was called out to a suspected arson attack on a caravan fire on the site.
