Staff working at a supermarket in Daventry have helped out the local community by organising a Christmas lunch.

Employees from Tesco in Daventry volunteered their time to host the event for 40 elderly members of the Daventry Day Centre in New Street.

The pensioners were treated to a three course meal which was supplied by Tesco and cooked by the staff.

Among the other entertaiment at the event was a visit from Father Christmas and had the chance to test their brain cells with a quiz.

The 40 members also had the chance to play bingo and took part in a raffle with all of the prizes donated by the staff at Tesco.

The pensioners were also treated to a dance display by a local group.
