THE guidelines on wind turbines issued by Daventry District Council to help judge planning applications are to be refreshed.

A revised document will go before the council’s strategy group on Thursday, November 22 which contains updates following a consultation over the summer months.

A key recommendation in the report is for wind turbines to be added to the Daventry Settlements and Countryside Local Plan under development now, which would move the guidelines from being a document that carries relatively little weight in planning terms, to something that has to be given ‘significant’ weight when deciding applications.

The strategy meeting starts at 6.15pm at DDC’s Lodge Road offices and is open to the public.
