A budding writer and animator from Daventry has won the prestigious Judge’s Choice Award at this year’s Film Northants awards.

Chris Consentino, aged 24, scooped top honours in the Film Northants 2015 Short Film Awards Ceremony on Thursday night.

The judges said that they were impressed with his quirky but simple two-minute animated film ‘Clear Skies’ which beat the other short-listed entries to win the coveted ‘Winner of Film Northants 2015’ Award, and a cash prize of £150.

A delighted Chris said: “I was very excited and pleasantly surprised to have won. There were some really strong entries and it is a real honour to get the Judges’ Choice award with such strong competition.

“The idea for my film started well over a year ago and is a light-hearted romantic comedy cartoon with a male and female character that has evolved from my free online web comic, ‘Black and White’,” he added.

Living in Daventry again after completing his honours degree at Bournemouth University in scriptwriting for film and television, his writing has led him to taking part in a national stand-up comedy competition in London and appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in a comedy drama ‘Killing Bill Gates’ in 2010 which ran for the entire month of the festival.
