STUDENTS from Danetre School teamed up with Daventry District Council’s Care and Repair team to bring festive cheer to some of the district’s elderly population.
Abandoning their usual harvest festival, children from the school created hampers which were delivered to members of the community.
Items such as food tins, soup, tea bags and chocolate were distributed across the district in the form of 22 hampers by members of the team.
The Care and Repair Daventry and South Northamptonshire team provide a service for elderly or disabled people who need help to repair or adapt their homes so they can carry on living comfortably and safely.
Cllr Alan Hills said: “The pupils from Danetre school made a marvellous gesture by assembling and donating these food boxes for the community. As a governor of the school I am very proud in their efforts to help the needy.”
