A GROUP who help people on nights out in Daventry town centre have received first aid certificates.
British Red Cross trainer, Mark Middleton presented a team of street pastors from Daventry with their certificates recently.
Eight volunteers from the street pastors learned first aid skills to help them in their role.
The course covered a range of basic first aid skills and included time to explore medical scenarios they might encounter late at night on the streets of Daventry.
Mr Middleton said “The Red Cross trains people in life-saving skills so they can respond to emergencies in their communities.
“We worked hard to make the course as relevant as possible to the street pastor team, including scenarios and ‘acting’ casualties with simulated injuries.
“The students asked lots of interesting questions and really appreciated the course.”
