A free Halloween event comes to Daventry Country Park on Thursday, October 31.
Children can take part in a spooky hunt for sweets and chocolates at 3pm by registering at the park’s visitors centre.
Youngsters are also invited to wear Halloween fancy dress at the event organised by Daventry District Council. There are two hunts, one for the under 5s followed by another for 5 to 12-year-olds and is sponsored by Crest Nicholson.
All children must be accompanied by an adult during the event and will need to bring torches with them as it will be getting dark at that time of the afternoon.
DDCs community, culture and leisure portfolio holder Cllr Alan Hills said: “The Halloween event we held last year at the country park was very well attended and a big success, with lots of children really getting into the spirit of the occasion and wearing some fantastic costumes.
“This year promises to be no different and it’s completely free to attend so I hope that lots of families can come along during the school half-term holiday and enjoy themselves.”
To take part participants need to complete and cut out a registration form that will appear in the next Daventry Calling magazine, which is being sent to all households in the district from October 14, and take it with them on the day.
Alternatively from October 14 people can print out and complete a copy online at www.daventrydc.gov.uk/daventrycalling.
