POLICE have hailed the opening stages of a speeding crackdown as a success.
The week-long campaign started on Monday and will run through to Sunday with several officers out with portable speed cameras.
Sergeant Martin Treen, from the Daventry Rural Safer Community Team, said: “We have had a lot of success in the rural areas so far and are pleased with how it is going.
“We are all over the district and will be giving out warning letters and tickets as necessary when our officers are out and about.”
