THE meeting to discuss plans for the regeneration of Daventry town centre has been postponed.
DDC’s planning committee had scheduled a special meeting on May 22 to discuss the applications for Mulberry Place and the new supermarket.
However, as the reports from planning officers are not ready, the meeting, and therefore the decision, has been delayed. No new date has yet been set for the meeting but it is expected within a month or two.
Plans for Mulberry Place, to the immediate north of the High Street, include shops, cafes, a cinema and new library. A supermarket, along with a petrol station and large retail unit, is proposed for land currently occupied by the old gas works and outdoor pool car parks and the Ashby Road/Braunston Road roundabout.
