A MAN from Daventry who has severe autism has raised £1,000 with a charity run.

Michael Nibblett, 25, from Lang Farm in Daventry, decided to commit to running a half-marathon to raise money for the national Autistic Society.

Throughout his training and the run itself he was supported by Spencer Freed, who works at The Cube in Daventry, which provides activities for adults with learning problems.

Mr Nibblett said: “I finished in two-and-a-half-hours but I ached at the end.

“I was very happy when I finished it – I was so pleased with myself.”

The pair had been training since May.

Mr Freed added: “We had done a 10km run last year, so we thought we’d do twice that this year.”
