IT was a moment of crowning glory for a new rose queen at Braunston Primary School on Saturday.
Gemma Walsh was crowned queen at the fundraising event which also included a fete.
This was followed by all of the school’s children doing some Olympic themed dancing based on the cultures of a number of nations competing at the summer games.
A total of £850 was raised on the day thanks largely to a wide variety of stalls.
The school’s headteacher Sue Rigby said: “We were really pleased with the amount of money we raised and how it went on Saturday.
“The children were really enthusiastic about taking part in the dancing which was nice to see.
“We were also very pleased the weather held off long enough to enable the children to do their dancing.”
