THE number of potholes on Daventry’s roads is in decline, the county council has claimed.
However, people are still angry about the “appalling” driving conditions caused by the number of cracks on the town’s roads.
Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) decided last year that instead of patching up potholes it would consider whether the whole road needed work.
And January this year saw 1,635 potholes reported across the area, down from 1,973 during the same month last year.
The number of potholes repaired in Northamptonshire also increased from 2,325 in January 2010 to 5,083 in January 2011.
But despite the figures drivers in Daventry believe much work still needs to be done on the town’s roads.
