Representatives from a Daventry charity were invited down to Windsor Castle to join in with the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.
Daventry Contact was one of only a handful of charities nationally nominated by Waitrose to attend the event on Friday May 13.
Charity trustees Sandy and Agnes McFeat and general manager Martin Birch went down from the charity.
This year marks 25 years since Daventry Contact became a registered charity. It serves the Daventry district providing re-usable household goods free of charge for the relief of poverty in our community.
They also assist Waitrose with their Community Matters initiative which provides food parcels to those in need to compliment the supplies of furniture to those who need it most.
A spokesman for the charity said: “The celebrations were very good and enjoyed by all, a fitting tribute to our Queen.”
