DUCKS at Danetre School are having a quacking time after winning a host of awards.

The ducks belong to the school’s science technician, June Wilson.

And, along with pupils, she has been training them up during an after school club, with the hard work now paying off.

The first success came at the Northampton and District Poultry Club when 12-year-old Matthew Coleman was named best junior handler with his white call duck .

That was followed up by Shannon Hudson, 13, who was named winner of the best of breed in the Welsh Harlequin class at the British Waterfowl Association Championships in Moreton Morrell.

And Bradley Turland, 12, and his black east Indian drake were named best junior exhibit at the Domestic Waterfowl Club championships in Wolverhampton.
