YOUNGSTERS managed to groove and make some noise with samba lessons.
Children aged between eight and 10 at Barby Primary School are taking part in samba lessons.
The school’s business manager, Joanne Campbell, said: “We had samba lessons here about three years ago and it went down really well with the children then.
“The course was offered to us again by Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust. It was an opportunity to get a whole class to learn to play an instrument.
“It gives them a chance to learn to play together so gives them teamwork skills and teaches them about rhythm.
“The children are really enjoying it. It is something they are looking forward to when the staff bring the big drums out.
“Normally, they are told to be quiet in lessons but here they are given carte blanche to make some noise and music.”
The sessions will be running every Tuesday throughout the spring term.
