Positive responses to plans for new play area in Daventry

HUNDREDS of people have been giving their views on a new play area planned for Daventry.

he plans for New Street Rec will see a new £242,000 skate park and children’s play area built. A public consultation is taking place this week and next to find out what children up to the age of 11 want to see at the play area.

There has already been a consultaion on the skate park, with two options currently being considered.

Roz Tidman, who is running the consultation for Daventry District Council, said: “The way we are doing it is the children vote for their favourite equipment and from that we get some ideas of what we are going to do.

“It’s important to ask the children what they want as they are the ones who will be using the park.”

Today (Thursday) the consultation is back at New Street’ and Tesco car park from 10am till 2pm.

People can also give their views at the Country park on Saturday, the library on Tuesday, the leisure centre on Wednesday and at New Street on Thursday.
