The old Dog and Gun pub in Braunston opened its doors for the first time in 42 years over the bank holiday weekend.

The pub closed in 1971 and was turned into a private house, but the current occupier Pete Lawrence (pictured) decided to organise the one-off event as a tribute to the former landlady Gertrude Brinkman, who died in July. The event proved popular, with much of the food being eaten, and the bar almost running dry.
