Police begin summer holiday crackdown

POLICE in Daventry have launched Operation Lordswood, a summer long crackdown on anti-social behaviour across the district

As it is the end of the school year officers are crewing up to tackle anti-social behaviour, underage drinking and youngsters who camp out and light fires.

A spokesperson from Northamptonshire Police said: “We will use all powers available to us to seize alcohol, advise parents and disperse large groups.

“We are not trying to be kill-joys, but we know there is a need for parents and police to work together to keep young people safe.

“Underage drinking is a particular concern for us as, not only does it lead to anti social behaviour, it also puts young people at a much greater risk of coming to harm.”
