One of the very best American soul men will be performing at Woodford Halse Social Club next month.

Eugene Hideaway Bridges comes to the venue on Saturday, December 6 as part of The Great Central Blues Club at the Hinton Road venue.

Also appearing on the same night is LeBurn Maddox (picured), a musician who has worked with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

Eugene Bridges is a seven times nominee for USA Blues Music Awards including Soul Blues Artist of the Year & Album of the Year.

This American blues and soul singer, songwriter, guitarist and band leader has released seven albums and has performed widely in the US, Britain, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

One of the event organisers Alison Cutler said: “Eugene is a nomadic musician living his life on the road – his home being wherever the next performance takes him.

“So we are very honoured to have him playing in Northamptonshire during his tour of the UK with his four-piece band.”

American musician LeBurn Maddox and his trio, Third Degree LeBurn, are a potent combination of James Brown funk, Jimi Hendrix psychedelia and Sly Stone rock and soul.

By his own admission, LeBurn makes music for the Soul of Man and the Hearts of Women.

With a life long career in the music industry, and having supported the likes of Chaka Khan, Lionel Richie and Blondie to name a few, this legend performs a show which is not to be missed.

Alison added: “Do come along and enjoy some exceptional live blues at the Great Central – we really appreciate your support to bring outstanding musicians to Woodford Halse.”

It is the third event that has been organised at the club. Dates have already been lined up for next year with performances on Saturday, February 28, Saturday, April 25 and Saturday, June 6.

The club asked Alison and her husband Craig to organise some blues night for them after they had success in organising Eydon Live Music. That venture saw a number of top musicians come to the village included Eugene.

Tickets for the show are £10 members of the club or £12.50 for non members. Doors open at 7pm with the music to start around 8pm.

They can be bought in person by visiting the club or from Village Meats, in Station Road Woodford Halse, or from Skins Cafe in Brackley.

They can also be bought by calling Alison or Craig on 01327 260015 or alternatively by visiting eugenebridges.eventbrite.co.uk.
