The countdown is on for the next big Daventry Express fundraising event in aid of the Jago Worrall Campaign.

From this week sports fans can book their place at the Charity Golf Day being held at Staverton Park Hotel and Golf Club on September 20.

Teams will be able to fuel up for the day with coffee and bacon rolls before taking part in an 18-hole golf tournament alongside Liverpool legend Phil Thompson.

Three lucky people can even earn themselves the chance to join Phil’s team. Just include your bid on the entry form, below, and the three highest bidders will win their place on Team Thompson.

Later on, there will also be the chance to enjoy a three-course sportsman’s dinner with guest speaker, to be announced. The evening includes a charity auction and lots already announced include signed and framed football shirts from footballing legends Lionel Messi, Pele and Robin van Persie.

The golf day is also being organised in conjunction withFootball for Charity.

Andrew Gibbins, golf and leisure manager, said: “At Staverton Park we are very keen to work with the local community and support local charities.

“The Jago Worrall Foundation and the charities supported by Football for Charity are constantly organising events to raise some unbelievable funds. We decided that we wanted to help.”

To enter a team into the golf day just complete the entry form, below, and, add your bid if you wish to join Phil Thompson’s team.

Return it to Andrew Gibbins at Staverton Park Hotel along with a £10pp deposit. Entry forms are also available from Staverton Park Hotel.

Businesses are invited to sponsor a hole on the course as well as donate auction lots.
