SUMMER activities have started with an adventure on the high seas at a pirate day in Daventry Country Park.

It was part of Mini Monday adventures, organised by Daventry District Council (DDC), an organised series of events during the school holidays. More than 100 people attended.

DDC customer services manager Katie Jones said: “Around 20 children turned up in pirate fancy dress for the Scavenger Hunt around the park and they looked amazing!

“Feedback from parents and children alike has been really pogsitive and many people are already looking forward to the next event.”

The next activity will be a butterflies and bugs event held from 10am to noon on Monday.
