THE winners in the Daventry Express and JR Press Christmas Card Competition have been announced.
Isabella Carroll, who is aged five and goes to East Haddon Primary School, won in the Under Eights age category. And Gemma Grace, who is eight and goes to Braunston Primary School, won in the Eight to 12s category.
The winning designs were selected from hundreds of entries by TV presenter and artist Timmy Mallett.
Both winners and their classmates will later this month enjoy a special visit to see their cards being printed at Daventry firm JR Press, which is donating all printing costs.
The finished cards will then go on sale around the Daventry area with every penny from the proceeds helping Daventry-based Pete Spencer’s Helping Hands Memorial Fund.
The fund provides specialist equipment and special days out for local children with disabilities or severe illnesses.
Daventry Express editor Matt Cornish said: “This has proved to be an extremely popular competition which has truly captured the imaginations of our local children.”
