THERE will be a chance to relive the history of village life at a nostalgia evening later in the month.
The Nostalgia and History Evening will take place at Charwelton Village Hall and will cover many aspects of its past.
The event will be held on Friday, January 27 and starts at 7.30pm. It has been organised by villager Dr David Pound who has collected many pieces of Charwelton’s history.
Among the delights for people to see will be a film of the last train to run through Charwelton in 1966. This event will include information spanning hundreds of years in the village, as well as more recent times.
There will also be a wide selection of photographs on display of the railway, village events and medieval village history.
A wide range of documents will also be available to see including records around the census, parish, school and the church.
Light refreshments will be sold throughout the event. Entrance to the evening is free but donations are encouraged. Money raised at the event will go towards the church roof fund.
