Daventry Athletic Club’s new J-track at the Stefen Hill Sports Park was officially opened on Thursday last week by founder member and club president Roy Fenn and the chairman of Daventry District Council, Chris Long.

The track has six 200m lanes and an eight-lane 100m straight.

The project cost approximately £140,000 and was funded by grants from SITA trust, Sport England, Daventry District Council and Daventry and District Housing Association.

The next stage is to complete a full 400m six-lane track. This would enable the club to host meetings rather than hire facilities elsewhere.
