SNOWDROPS will be on display at a village’s annual garden event this weekend.
Newnham’s Snowdrop Day is still planned for Sunday, despite snowfall covering the flowers at the start of this week.
Andrew Banks, of the Nuttery in Manor Lane, hosts the event each year in his garden.
He said: “The weather this past year has been unusual and our two main varieties of snowdrops seem confused.
“The single flowered one started early and the double variety has come later. But it flowered as it left the ground.
“We are hoping the effect will still be as pretty as usual, and the snowdrops around us in the village are getting better every year.”
There will also be a raffle and tea and cake in the village hall. A suggested donation of £2 per person is in aid of church funds.
