A NEW train station which has been called for by Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) could be built in Weedon.
An NCC report has looked at how the county can benefit from the new HS2 development. The first choice would be for a station at Brackley but Weedon is being considered alongside other places.
The report said: “The other and more likely option is a station on the existing through-line from Euston. It could be located at Blisworth, close to the A43 and the M1. Other possible sites are Roade, Weedon and Hunsbury.
“It would mainly serve passengers from Daventry, South Northants and the western edge of Northampton, who currently use Milton Keynes and Rugby stations or go the whole journey by car.”
