A NEW set of lights will be installed either side of a pedestrian crossing in Daventry following requests from residents.
People living near to the junction of Braunston Road and Morning Star Road have complained the lights on the pedestrian crossing are not bright enough for cars to see people crossing and pedestrians said they cannot see traffic coming towards them.
Cllr Chris Long, county councillor for Daventry West said he had received confirmation from Northamptonshire County Council that the new lights will be installed within two weeks.
He said: “There have been a lot of people coming to me about this problem. I am very relieved that lights will be put in place. It was an accident waiting to happen as far as I was concerned. I just hope this will prevent accidents.
“Once again, common sense has prevailed.”
