New homes set to be built on town estate

MORE homes could be built on the Middlemore estate in Daventry following a planning meeting to be held on Wednesday.

An application by Bellway Homes will be determined by Daventry District Council’s (DDC) planning committee.

DDC officials have recommended the plans for approval.

The same company is also seeking planning permission to install an acoustic fence to protect residents of the new homes from potential noisy from a nearby industrial estate.

While there have been no formal objections to the plans for the new homes, Daventry Town Council is worried about the increase in development on the Middlemore site with no provision for a school or community building. However the town council is broadly supportive of the application.

A decision on this plan will be made at the DDC offices in Lodge Road, Daventry on Wednesday from 6.15pm.
