New cafe for Daventry gets later hours despite police advice

CONTROVERSIAL plans to extend the opening hours of a town centre cafe have been approved despite police concerns about anti-social behaviour.

The cafe in Prince William Walk, just off Sheaf Street, will now open until 10pm from Monday to Saturday and till 9pm on Sunday - despite police labelling the area as an anti-social behaviour hotspot.

It was given approval at a meeting of Daventry District Council’s planning committee on Wednesday, December 15. The permission will last for a year and then be reviewed.
