A NEW bus route has been created between Daventry and Towcester following calls from passengers.
The Daventry CountyConnect service will be extended from Monday (June 18) to include Towcester, Greens Norton and Pattishall.
The move was made in recognition of bus users living south of Daventry wanting to travel to access health and other services at places including Greens Norton, and those wanting to come to Daventry to use things including Danetre Hospital.
The service to Towcester also connects with bus routes running down to Milton Keynes.
CountyConnect is the dial-a-ride service created to replace bus routes that were dropped after Northamptonshire County Council withdrew its subsidies.
The service operates between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays.
Users need to pre-register to use the service, and can then book buses in advance by calling 0845 456 4474 to pick them up and drop them off where ever they want in the area covered by the service.
