NCC results for the Daventry area

UKIP took one of Daventry district’s seats on Northamptonshire County Council in Thursday’s election.

The Conservatives retained control of the authority, but the Liberal Democrats tumbled from the county’s second party to third.

Detailed analysis of the results is complicated by the fact the total number of seats has been reduced from 73 to 57, coupled with a redrawing of the electoral divisions.

The Lib Dems managed to gain more seats then UKIP, but far fewer votes overall.

Previously all the seats representing the Daventry area were held by Conservatives, but now one, Daventry West, has been taken by Adam Collyer for the UK Independence Party.

And in all the other local divisions UKIP candidates came in second.
